 THE JOURNEY BEGINS HERE... My name is Verity Allen and this is my website, portfolio and blog. I will be adding assignments and commenting on my journey through EDN 113 Living and Learning with Technology. But first, a little about myself and how I got here! I am working (very slowly) towards a degree in Early Childhood/Primary Education. At the moment I am part-time and studying externally. When I'm not studying I'm a very busy (aren't we all?) full-time mum to my two gorgeous girls, Maddie and Jada. I also run a Family Daycare service from my home as well. Returning to University is a goal I've had for many years. I originally studied Journalism back in Canada, but after I finished I took some time off to travel and explore the world. During my travels through Europe I met my husband which sent my life shooting in a direction I never could have forseen! Fast forward ten years, two children, a new house and several trips back to Canada, I find myself going back to University to achieve my dream of becoming a teacher. Studying with so many other commitments is so challenging! I've almost convinced myself to give up on several occasions, but after completing each unit I have such a great feeling of accomplishment and pride that I know its worth all the hard work. So here I go again, another unit and another adventure and challenge to conquer!
